Carpet Wet Around Fireplace

We have a 2 story home and the ground level is the one that is wet.

I d like to tile that area and then cut the existing carpet so that it sits flush with the new tile s edges. When i demo d the old fireplace hearth it left a rectangle of subfloor exposed.

The fact that your carpet is getting wet from underneath is not a problem to be addressed. It s important to act. Its on opposite side of all plumbing.
