Carpet Smells Like Urine

The only thing that helps the smell of dried urine is to seal the subfloor with a shellac or polyurethane and then proceed to either put new carpet or in my case ceramic tile down nothing will totally get the smell of urine out of a carpet or a subfloor other than throwing it away or sealing it up.
Carpet smells like urine. There are a few possible reasons your carpet now smells like a wet dog. The odor also attracts your pet to that same spot which could lead to more accidents on the carpet. In this method a significant amount of water and solution is applied to the carpet. When pets use the carpet as a bathroom the smell can really linger.
Firstly most carpet cleaning uses water. The gold standard method for cleaning carpets is a process called hot water extraction. This odor can linger throughout the entire room. Once the urine has spread out treating it yourself is very difficult.
Pet urine leaves stains and a strong odor on the carpet. Even after a carpet cleaning the smell of pet urine may return. The heat from the carpet cleaner actually embeds the urine smell and stain into the carpet thus making it worse. This is due to the gases released by the bacteria that are digesting the urine.
Only a select number of carpets out there do require these ingredients to work. Depending on the cleaner that was used to remove the stain from the carpet the urine odor may remain after cleaning. To remove the odor you must treat it for it. Just like laundry carpet is a fabric and sometimes additional products are needed to remove odors.
If you are like me i always used the hottest water possible. With urine problems you need pet odor neutralizer that is designed to kill the bacteria and break down the ammonia. If any of the urine remains in the rug fibers it will continue to smell.
